Who We Are
Motor Service was started in Miami, Florida back in 1949 as a mechanic’s shop that totally rebuilt engines for customers. Both diesel and gasoline engines were accepted and great care taken to make sure the job was done right the first time. Since then the company moved to its current address, 6600 NW 77th Court, Miami, Fl. 33166, in 1973, when a custom built facility was made on an acre of land. Motor Service has refined is services over the years, whereby we no longer disassemble or assemble engines. Only certain machine shop work limited to the engine block, cylinder head, crankshaft and camshaft are performed for other mechanic’s centers and local dealers. Our machinery can work on engines as big as the Caterpillar 3500 series engines. MTU, Detroit Diesel, Cummins, Deutz, Perkins and Caterpillar engines of 12 and 16 cylinders are honed, align bored, surfaced and repaired to factory specifications. Earlier this year the previous owner, Mr. Lester Bourne, retired and sold the company to Motor Service Group, LLC. The same capable staff, with over 30 years experience is still working at the same facility with the same tooling. The new owner, Robert Valdes, will slowly modernize the infrastructure and expand product offerings to their local market. We offer an exchange program for certain common engines so that customers can drop off their rebuildable cores and swap them on the spot with our already rebuilt components.
Motor Service has always been known for its quality in workmanship and professionalism. This principle inspires and underlies everything we do. Our staff looks upon every job as if they were doing the work for their own engine.
